Board Member Marla Moore Joins SEMA Hall of Fame
Austin Hatcher Foundation Board Member Marla Moore Receives Automotive Specialty-Equipment Industry’s Highest Honor
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 20, 2019) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is proud to celebrate longtime board member, Marla Moore, as she is inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame. Representing an esteemed group of industry icons who have influenced and inspired the $43 billion automotive specialty-equipment industry, Moore and the two other inductees, Bob Chandler and Bruce Crower, will be recognized as part of the SEMA Installation & Gala, Friday, July 26, at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California.
A passionate enthusiast who grew up helping her dad rebuild cars, Moore is among the industry’s most active volunteers and leaders. She has chaired countless SEMA councils and committees and spearheaded numerous special projects that have helped to advance the industry. In 2012, Moore was instrumental in guiding an all-female Mustang build that received national coverage on the CBS Evening News, as well as local news coverage, a feature in Times Square, and an award for Best PR on a Shoestring Budget from PR Daily. Described as a dedicated professional with an engineer’s mind, an artist’s vision and a heart of gold, Moore continues to advocate for the industry and mentor the younger generation. She currently supports the SEMA Cares Committee, regularly attends the Washington, D.C. Rally, and is involved with the SEMA Scholarship Committee.
In addition to serving on the foundation’s board of directors, Moore is currently the marketing director at Coker Tire Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Coker Tire Company is the world's largest distributor of antique and classic tires for automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles. Prior to joining Coker Tire in 2013, she was the advertising director at Hypertech for 27 years. Hypertech is based in Bartlett, Tennessee and is the technology leader in high-performance engine tuning on computer-controlled vehicles.
