When Niko Blanks was diagnosed with a Grade II Fibrillary Astrocytoma as a child, the Austin HatcherFoundation became a place of healing and support for him and his family. Following his treatment, Niko felt a deep calling to give back—to inspire and uplift children facing the same challenges he once overcame.

Recovery Operations Engineer II at Blue Origin , Niko believes that space changed his life, sparking hope and endless possibilities. From this passion, the Cosmic Odyssey Scholarship Program was born.

Each summer, 16 children and their families embark on the experience of a lifetime—attending Space Camp at the U.S. Space +Rocket Center where they immerse themselves in hands-on space exploration, teamwork, and discovery. Through diversionary and recreational therapy, families are given the invaluable gift of time together, strengthening bonds and restoring faith and hope.
