Connection to Motorsports
The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is one of two Proud Charities of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), which sanctions the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the premier sports car series in North America, as well as the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, and five other development and single-make series.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is in its fifth year as a “Proud Charity” of IMSA, a dynamic partnership that has dramatically raised awareness both for the Foundation and its admirable mission: to erase the effects of pediatric cancer on young patients and their families. As a Proud Charity of IMSA, the Foundation will work within all of IMSA’s race series to create awareness, raise funds, and deliver its services in race cities across the United States.
Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
Since 2006, the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has proudly partnered with Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta as one of its official charities, providing children with cancer and their families a fun, trackside day of respite. Throughout the paddock, fundraising efforts are also held in support of the Foundation’s mission.
Each year, over 200 children and their family members from six different children's hospitals participate in the event. They enjoy activities like decorating and racing derby cars, walking the grid during the Motul Petit Le Mans, having a catered lunch, meeting professional racecar drivers on the front stretch, and spending time with AHF clinical staff. These families, all affected by pediatric cancer, are treated to an unforgettable VIP experience.

Join a Diversionary Therapy Visit at a Local Hospital!
Since its founding, the Austin Hatcher Foundation has been deeply connected to the motorsports community. A standout service of the foundation is its Diversionary Therapy program, where race car drivers visit children’s hospitals in race cities to build and race pinewood derby cars with children facing illness and their siblings.
