The Austin Hatcher Foundation Strengthens Growing Team
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (July 8, 2022) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation recently added Morgan Croft and Anna Fung as members to their growing team and promoted Tammy Gipson to Director of Clinical Services and Operations.
Morgan Croft has joined the foundation staff as the new Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator.
As the new Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator, Croft contributes to the Austin Hatcher mission by developing informative and enticing graphics to promote the foundation's activities and messages consistently across all social media platforms. Croft graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.F.A. in graphic design.
“I have always wanted to perform meaningful and purposeful work through design,” shares Croft. “I could not have imagined a better foundation to work with that allows me to accomplish these things every day and through every task. I am so excited for my future here!”
Anna Fung is welcomed to the foundation staff as a new Occupational Therapist.
As an Austin Hatcher Occupational Therapist, Fung will help the foundation’s patients and families live life to the fullest through adaptations, muscle strengthening, and sensory and compensatory strategies intervention. Fung graduated from the University of Kansas with her bachelor's degree in occupational science, and then pursued her doctorate and master's degrees in occupational therapy at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Fung has spent the past five years practicing occupational therapy in a school-based setting, primarily working with children ages three to five.
“I've come to work at the foundation as a tribute to my mom and her battle with cancer,” said Fung. “I am looking forward to building relationships with the families and supporting the mission and values at Austin Hatcher.”
With the addition of Fung to the staff, the foundation can shift some responsibility from current Occupational Therapist Tammy Gipson and promote Gipson to the Director of Clinical Services and Operations. Gipson has practiced occupational therapy with the Austin Hatcher Foundation for the past three years and has served as the Director of Clinical Services for the past nine months. Now Gipson will expand her role from overseeing everything on the foundation’s clinical side to also overseeing the operational side as well.
“My favorite inspirational quote is ‘we rise by lifting others,’” said Gipson. “At the Austin Hatcher Foundation, I have found that in contrast to me lifting others up, the people I work with and the families and children I have been privileged to know have lifted me. My hope is to use my experience and what I have gained from Austin Hatcher to help continue to expand our outreach and develop more opportunities for all we serve. I feel so fortunate to have been given this chance to serve as Director of Clinical and Operations at the foundation, and look forward to a bright future here.”
The Austin Hatcher Foundation’s vision is for all childhood cancer patients, survivors, and the entire family to reach their full human potential through education, balance, and health and well-being. The foundation’s services provide children and families with the tools to cope in the present and thrive in the future after childhood cancer. The foundation’s Education Advancement Center houses evidence-based programs to address each child and family members’ needs, including, but not limited to, counseling, neuro-cognitive testing, and various types of therapy.
