CHATTANOOGA, TENN.  (August 30, 2018) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer and the Lee University women’s soccer program are renewing their partnership for the ninth Annual “Kickin’ It For Kids With Cancer” fundraising initiative, with a six-part effort scheduled for Sept. 4-21, in conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

This year’s initiative will conclude on the night of Friday, Sept. 21 at the Lee University Soccer Field in Cleveland, Tennessee, with the Lee Lady Flames hosting Auburn University-Montgomery at 7 p.m.  Lee’s women’s program won four national NAIA championships before moving to the NCAA Division II level where the Lady Flames have reached the national tournament three consecutive years.

The “Kickin’ It For Kids With Cancer” game will be prefaced by five “Spirit Nights” hosted by restaurants in Cleveland and Hixson, Tennessee. At each of the events, a portion of establishment proceeds will be donated to the Austin Hatcher Foundation. Visitors to the participating restaurants are urged to wear a “Kickin’ It For Kids Cancer” t-shirt (available at hatcherfoundation.org) – and mention the Foundation when purchasing.

The schedule for the five Spirit Nights:

·                   Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 5-8 p.m. – Jenkins Deli in Cleveland

·                   Thursday, Sept. 6 from 6-9 p.m. – Dos Bros in Cleveland

·                   Monday, Sept. 10 from 6-9 p.m. – Quizno’s in Cleveland

·                   Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6-9 p.m. – Lupi’s Pizza Pies in Cleveland and Hixson

·                   Thursday, Sept. 20 from 6-9 p.m. – Zaxby’s in Cleveland location

“We are so fortunate to have this wonderful relationship with Lee University,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “Initiatives such as ‘Kickin’ It’ truly support our organization’s mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer. This is also reflective of our roots in the region, which have strengthened through the years, helping us to grow the Foundation and increase our national visibility. Sincere thanks go out to the area’s restaurants involved in the Spirit Nights and, of course, thanks to Lee University.”
