Austin Hatcher Foundation's Clinical Liaison, Ashley Guthrie, FNP, Joins CAC2 Board of Directors

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (August 27, 2024) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is proud to announce Ashley Guthrie, the Foundation’s Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Liaison, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2). This appointment reflects Ashley's deep commitment to the childhood cancer community and her extensive experience in providing care and support to pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Guthrie has served as the Clinical Liaison at the Austin Hatcher Foundation since 2020, and plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between clinical services and family support.  Guthrie collaborates closely with the Foundation’s clinical team and pediatric healthcare providers to ensure that all patients and their families receive the comprehensive care and resources they need throughout their cancer journey. Guthrie’s dedication to her work is informed not only by her professional expertise but also by her personal experience as the mother of a pediatric cancer survivor.

Ashley’s appointment to the CAC2 Board of Directors strengthens the collaboration between the Austin Hatcher Foundation and the broader childhood cancer community. CAC2 is a coalition that unifies the childhood cancer community through coordinated action, fostering collaboration, and minimizing duplication of efforts among its members. Since its inception in 2013, CAC2 has been committed to advancing advocacy, research, treatment, and family support initiatives for childhood cancer.

"We are proud of Ashley's appointment to the CAC2 Board of Directors," said Amy Jo Osborn, CEO and Co-Founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. "Her dedication to supporting families and her knowledge of pediatric healthcare make her a valuable asset not only to our Foundation but also to the childhood cancer community as a whole. We are confident that Ashley will bring the same level of passion and commitment to support CAC2 as a board member, just as she does in her work with The Austin Hatcher Foundation every day."

As a member of the CAC2 Board of Directors, Ashley will help guide the coalition's mission to foster and sustain greater levels of collaboration, share the mission of the Austin Hatcher Foundation, and support learning across the childhood cancer community. CAC2’s initiatives focus on awareness and advocacy support, as well as family support and survivorship, which aligns well with the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s goals of providing a lifetime of free services to families impacted by pediatric cancer.

"I am honored to join the CAC2 Board of Directors and to contribute to this incredible community of advocates and professionals," said Guthrie. "As someone who has both professional and personal experience with pediatric cancer, I am passionate about ensuring that every family affected by pediatric cancer receives the support, resources, and care they need. I look forward to working with CAC2 to continue advancing our shared goals of improving outcomes and quality of life for all children and families touched by cancer."
