Austin Hatcher Foundation Selected as 2024 Golden Pear Grant Recipient by the American Fundraising Foundation
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Jan. 29, 2025) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is proud to announce its selection as a 2024 Golden Pear Award recipient. The American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) presented the Foundation with its highest award of $25,000 through its Golden Pear Grant Program, providing unrestricted funds to support the Foundation’s comprehensive care programs for families affected by childhood cancer.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation was chosen from over 5,000 applicants to receive the esteemed award to advance its mission of delivering comprehensive, coordinated care to families facing the challenges of childhood cancer. The Foundation offers families a wide range of essential services throughout their cancer journey, including mental, behavioral, and social therapies, educational resources, and family-centered programs.
“We are truly honored to receive AmFund’s Golden Pear Grant Award,” said Melanie Hammontree, Director of Development at the Austin Hatcher Foundation. “Partners like AmFund enable us to continue providing critical care to childhood cancer families – for their entire lifetime – at absolutely no cost to them..”
This marks the fifth grant cycle in which AmFund has funded organizations over and above their signature fundraising initiatives.
“We are pleased to present the Austin Hatcher Foundation with a Golden Pear Grant. Their application was very compelling, and the work they are doing to support families with pediatric cancer diagnoses is so important,” said Deborah Marshall, Chief Operating Officer of the American Fundraising Foundation. “We are grateful for all they are doing to make a difference. The Golden Pear is part of our logo and symbolizes good health, prosperity, longevity, and future happiness – all the things we hope for them and the many organizations that impact lives daily.”
